"Gagauzia, the black grounds of gagauz people"

Spanish - English

The gagauz are an ethnic minority settled mainly in an autonomous region in southern Moldova, on a black soil steppe. There are several theories about the supposed origin of the gagauz people, but all of them point to a connection with the turkic peoples. Unlike the other turkic peoples, the gagauz people profess the Orthodox Christian religion. From a documentary point of view, this photobook is an approach to the local population, giving an anthropological view of this ethnic minority.
