7 years of war in Donbass (Ukraine)

The Donbass region in eastern Ukraine has been the scene, since the beginning of 2014, of a war between Ukraine and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk Republics. This war has become frozen and seems to be on the way to becoming an eternal conflict in which the civilian population is who suffers the real consequences.

Life goes on in the frontline villages but the problems for civilians continue. After the start of the war thousands of families fled from the horror but not all had the opportunity to flee. A large part of the population living near the frontline is older people who did not have the option to escape. The conflict divided the region into two and this was link with a lack of job opportunities, so those who did not leave for fear of shells left because of necessity.
